What is the Gospel?

Jesus Christ is God, this is a title that is he shares with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, if we come to Jesus although he is God and King of all Kings he is our brother and our friend.

He also is the only way to heaven in the bible Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life, no one shall go to heaven except through me

Who is Jesus?

Many years ago when Humankind first came onto the earth, they had peace with God, they were with God and all was well, some time later God was rejected and we went our own way.

Fast forward to today and unfortunately we are still rejecting God although this happens, God has given us a way in which we can be in a right relationship with him again and be at peace with God through his son Jesus Christ.

The bible states in John 3v16 that Jesus Christ came to came to the the earth to die for us and that if we put our trust in him as our saviour  by believing in him ( Romans 10v11 and 13 ) and turn from our sins (repentance), we can have a relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ and spend eternity with him in heaven.

Outside of this if we do not put our trust in Christ if we reject a loving Saviour the bible speaks about a literal hell ( 2 Peter 2 verse 4),

God desires that all people would not go to this place but to turn to him, because although God is a Holy God he  will judge wether we are a good person or not, by the standard of his son Jesus Christ and the Ten Commandments

We can take the good person test (below)to see if we are good or not.

As well as being a holy judge he is also is a loving father who truly loves you.Coming to him is something that God truly wants for everyone but he knows not everyone will come to him,

I set up this website because I know God truly loves you and I want you to have as much resources as possible to come to know about him.

I don’t want this to be overwhelming for you but I do realise that many different people want to know many different things about God, so just choose the things that interest you, that will help you draw closer to God.

The Good Person Test

Are we ready for the Good person Test? This will be Judged by Gods Standard of Goodness (Perfection) and the Ten Commandments.

These questions are for you to ponder in your heart, please try to finish them all and see how you did at the end.

  • Is Jesus your God, Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life, no one shall get to heaven except through me, If you worship another God or you worship no one then you are not worshiping the God of the bible.

  • An idol can be anything that takes Gods place in your heart, is God number 1 in your heart

  • Have you ever blasphemed the name of God ?

    Saying Jesus Christ in a cursing way or OMG

    If you have, you have blasphemed the name of a Holy God

  • Though this doesn’t mean much to us today, Do we have time with God knowing him, having joy in his presence ?

  • Honouring family is very important to God as they as well as God made us, Have you honoured your family ?

  • An easy one for most of us to keep but Jesus said if you have anger for another person in your heart you are a murderer, have you ever felt such rage in your heart, you felt like you could kill someone ?

  • Jesus designed sex for the boundaries of marriage, have you ever had sex outside of marriage, or lusted for a person in your heart?

  • Have you ever stolen anything, even something small? wether this is a pound of the floor or music of the internet

  • Or to put it more simply have you ever lied, even once in your life?

  • Have you ever been jealous of someone and wanted what they have ?

    Like really wanted it even to the point where you wish you had what was there’s instead of them? the bible calls this covetousness

Well done for getting this far, a last thought it says in the book of James that if you pass every one of the Ten Commandments but fail one, you have failed them all.

So how did you do?

Did you pass with flying colours? Are you a good person?

If not, don’t be to disheartened because not one person in history has ever passed this test, except for one man Jesus Christ. 

These commandments are designed to bring us to the end of ourselves and our goodness and point us to the only one who is truly good Jesus Christ himself and that by trusting in him, we can have forgiveness of our sins and peace with God.
